When visiting older relatives it seemed the norm for them to keep me occupied with paint by numbers, basket weaving, or just a box of crayons and a sketch pad. I continued my artful  quest in Junior and Senior High schools, but my passion for the ocean drew me in another direction wanting to follow in the footsteps of Jaques Cousteau. Presently, my preferred medium is oil painting, preferably painting in plein air (outdoors). I am exploring watercolor and acrylic media as I continue to learn and focus on this one craft of painting.

I’ve got to have all the windows open in any room I’m in. Of course, I prefer to be outside enshrouded in the life-giving source. That is where the colors of His creation explode. I can only attempt to create a moment captured in a landscape or seascape that barely compares with His unfolding creative story that we participate in and yet often take for granted each day.
